Wall treatment ideas for your country style home

Part of the process of building a new home is adding the right interior choices that fit everyone’s taste and style. We look at three wall treatment ideas that look timeless in today’s country style homes.

Manor country homes wall panelling

Wall panelling

Need to add texture, warmth and character to a space? Decorative wall panelling is a great way to achieve this. While covering every wall may be too much, adding wall panelling to a single wall as a feature is a great alternative. Wood panelling can be stained, varnished or painted and the texture adds visual interest.

Wainscoting

Wainscoting is a type of timber panelling used in the interior of homes. Starting at the floor, it goes up to approximately 90-120cm high. The height will be dependent on the overall height of your wall. Traditionally used for insulation and to hide wall imperfections, it’s a classic and enduring style that is suited to modern country style homes. It’s usually painted in a different colour to the upper wall and is also available in a range of style and patterns. Simple wainscoting can instantly make your walls more visually appealing.

 Paintable textured wallpaper

Wallpaper doesn’t need to be loud, bright and patterned. Paintable wallpaper has become popular as it’s a great way to add customised patterns and textures to create visual interest in a space. By selecting a pattern and painting it with your personal choice of colour, you can add a personal touch to a room.

When building a new home, it’s important to think about the type of wall treatments that you would like to include as they can change the overall ambience and look of a room.
