We've all thought about escaping the hustle and bustle of the city in favour of a more peaceful and serene lifestyle. This has been the reality for many people post covid, with the rise of remote work and the emphasis on work/life balance stronger than ever.
Here at Manor we're all about making those dreams become a reality, that’s why we tailor our designs to every lifestyle from growing families to empty nesters and all types of areas, from the country to the coast. The great news is that all of our home designs are fully customisable, so you can make any changes and additions to perfectly suit the area that you're building in and lifestyle that you desire. We will work with you to deliver exactly what you need, whether it be extra space for a growing family, an open plan design for entertainers or an outdoor space to take in those country views.
Building a home can be a huge undertaking, with many considerations, one of them being the area and type of block to build on, here are some things that we can help you with when designing and building on your site:
Site location & challenges
Australia has an incredibly beautiful and diverse landscape, with this however comes various environmental issues that may arise such as bushfires and floods. When building your home it is vital that these issues are taken into consideration, especially in regional area. We can help ensure that your build isn't too close to bushfire prone areas or in designated flood zones.
It is something worth considering when looking at building a rural home. Flood areas may require extra clearance under the home, and Bushfire areas may require certain adaptations to the inside and outside of your home. When building with us that’s no problem! We’ll work with you to make sure your new home meets all these.
Acreage properties also cover large sections of land, which can mean your site may be sloping or uneven. The great thing about modular building is that we are able to prepare the base of your home and use adjustable piers and footings, so that we can help you get your dream design on even some of the most challenging of sites!
Orientation & layout
Ensuring that your home is designed to make the most of your surroundings is crucial, especially if you're on acreage or by the coast.
Whereas town homes or small semi-rural blocks will dictate how your home is placed, having lots of space means you can really make the most of what’s around you. At Manor, we’ll work with you to help you achieve this, right from the start! Getting the right orientation for your home is a key factor – where the best views are, where the sun will be at different times of day and access to the home are all things to consider when planning the way your home will be positioned.
Living on property in a rural area can bring many challenges when getting connected to services such as power and water– but we’ll be here to help! It may also mean that when building your dream modular home, you may need to include solar panels and water tanks to allow you to generate your own electricity and water so that you are putting less demand on these services.
Size of your site
Every block of land is different and accommodates various home sizes and designs. That's why we offer homes suitable for any site, from suburban blocks to rural properties and everything in between!
While style and looks are very much subjective, one thing that can't be changed is the size of your site. Our range of homes offer plenty of options for both small and large properties, so that you can maximise the space you have available and get the home you want. Plus, all our designs are customisable to allow you to design a home that doesn't just work on your plot, but also for your lifestyle too.
Modular homes built with the future in mind
Steel is our preferred material to use when building house frames. Steel frames are very capable in almost all conditions, making them perfect for Australia's unpredictable and sometimes wild weather conditions.
Being one the strongest building materials available, steel is incredibly durable, withstanding extreme weather from heavy rain falls to hot sun and can stand up to very high winds much better than a timber frame can.
Proving to be a versatile building material, Steel can be made into different shapes and still maintain its strength, which makes customisation and design easier. This means that we can create shapes that have the required strength to make new and innovative designs. Most importantly steel frames are built to last, so you know your home will stand the test of time.
Alongside this, we can help you to get your site working for you by adding water tanks & solar panels so that your home is energy efficient and as sustainable as possible.
So, no matter what the location, position and site that you're building on, we'll be able to work with you to make sure that your new home is perfect for your land, in the way it looks, the design and floor plan and so that you have the perfect home both now and long into the future.
